The adapter size kills it for me. Everything else is great.

I have a canon 24mm 2.8 fd mount lens that I really like with it. My other big fav is the legendary 105mm 2.5 (early sonnar design). It just looks so gosh dark pretty with all the chrome (and the lock/unlock ring on my adapter just happens to have a very similar color, creating a very cohesive look). Been trying to decide what other lenses I could add to my roster. of course I have a helios 44-2.

Please sold me if you have extra unused Fujifilm lenses

The comparison is ridiculous. Comparing the 70-100 @ 70mm to the 24-240 @ 24mm is a stupid comparison. First, of course the wide angle 24mm focus at the corners is softer than the 70mm. A more realistic comparison would be both set to 70mm. Second, the useable range of the 70-200, with no wide angle, is limited compared to the 24-240, which is much more versatile. You cannot consider the 70-200 as a single lens solution, as you would need to add at least a 24mm and a 50mm lens, perhaps a 35mm, to have the same versatility as the one 24-240. This comparison and its premise is poorly considered and essentially useless for its stated objective decision making. Sorry, but this is a big miss IMHO.

I got you beat: NIKON F3 , the real deal. Lenses fit better , M42 and Leica M too .

Thanks Andrew for your insights to the Zf and especially adapting manual lenses, as I've collected 20 of them!. I have followed your channel for a long time and I know you are a Fuji fanboy so to hear you talk about this camera with so much interest makes me wonder? I am a 66 year old Fuji fangirl starting with the XT-1 and now my old XT-2. I need to replace my XT-2 now as it has too many issues. I do landscape photography often in low light and some bird photography as we have special birds here in NZ. Since your first review of the Zf I now have a choice yo make, the XT-5 or go full frame for better dynamic range and low light performance. I like the dials and film sims of the X series but the Zf is seeming very appealing now.

I agree with you on the seeming lunacy of the PASM switch along with the dials. Makes me wonder if Nikon Engineers were obliged to use an underlying software-menu program that simply couldn’t be revised enough for such a complete design departure.

We just had a baby and have been using X100F to take photos of him growing up. It’s been fine. Recently I misplaced that camera so went back to my old 5D which I haven’t turned on for a long while. What a difference - totally forgot the joy of using this classic. It’s like meeting an old friend again.

Try the Sonnar 180 2.8 on that camera, for portraits. It will blow your mind :)

Watched the video through, but not gonna lie I really lost any kind of trust on the review given how horrible the shots on the lenses were with autofocus and how the focus was confused all over the place… If your videos look like that, I say anything you say will be taken with a huge grain of salt. Turn off the autofocus and shoot manual, at least when you’re filming a video about manual focuses! Good job other than that!

My top ones were Pacific Blue, Provia, Kodachrome 64 and Portra 400 (which suprised me because i havent found a recipe i like yet despite its popularity), classic negative also scored good on my test, never tried it but will do. This was fun, thanks!

I came into this video wanting to find a reason to return my Q2 Monochrom in favor of a Fuji. Unfortunately, I didn't pick the Fuji for each one. I chose the Leica M3 w/ Delta 100 once, and the rest were split between the M246 and M Monochrom Classic.

ive owned the 35 1.4 twice and now have my second 35 F2.0 lens, I like the faster focus and it is sharp also great colors. currently looking at 3rd party 23mm f1.4 lens, Fuji too much $$ and little gain IMO for the 23mm

Digital photography has come a long way. Surprised that there wasn't a clear victor for me and that the Leica didn't really 3d pop as I was led to beleive it would. Simple edit in lightroom on any of them wpuld suffice on any of them for a hobby photographer like myself, seems like the "Magic" has moved to if I can be bothered to edit their photos endlessly 😢 which never get around to

Wow such edible reds on the Leica, most of it can be adjusted in post so as an occasional photographer I'd struggle to justify the bonkers price difference. Has the price difference always been that large compared to canon/nikon/fuji etc or did they start hitting the premiums on more recently to cash in on the brand?

Your reasons are very compelling! I am aware that while Nikon doesn't have "film simulations" per se, they do have color profiles. I dont have much experience with them, but I feel like fuji is just too good in that area. And it outweighs some of the benefits of the Zf. That could be an interesting video if you haven't done it already. Comparing Fuji and Nikon "color profiles". Also would be interesting to hear your thoughts on what is the 2nd ultimate camera for vintage lenses. If it would be the Zfc or the Fujis, since there would be no Full Frame advantage. But great video!

Interesting they made this lens in Japan. Probably because of the supply chain after the COVID when this lens was designed and launched. The RXD lens (G1) was made in Vietnam. Mine has already been sent back to warranty twice due to sealing issue...

Been thinking about this camera and the plastic is definitely a deal breaker for me. I shoot about 2-5 rolls of HP 5 with my FM2 each week and since it's not exactly cheap I was super excited to see the ZFC, but I know I won't really love using it, so I think I need to save up to get the ZF instead.
